About the role
This is a dynamic sales role, ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are motivated by targets and results. You will be responsible for driving IMDirect print, digital and podcast revenue by proactively generating new business through cold calling, building leads, attending events and developing profitable, long-term partnerships with clients. Resilience and a positive attitude are essential, as you will be expected to overcome objections and pursue new opportunities.
While some leads and accounts will be provided, a significant part of your success will depend on your ability to identify and create new sales opportunities. Full training and support are provided, and you’ll be part of a collaborative, creative team with a clear progression path.
As a Sales Executive you will;
- Proactively identify and contact potential clients through cold calling, networking, inbound enquiries, and trade shows.
- Build and manage your own pipeline, using CRM tools for accurate forecasting and campaign tracking.
- Demonstrate a resilient attitude by handling objections, learning from setbacks, and maintaining motivation to achieve sales targets.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, understand client needs, and provide tailored campaign solutions.
- Work closely with internal teams (marketing, client services, sales planners, production) to deliver seamless campaign execution.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activity, and client sectors to inform sales strategies.
- Attend meetings and networking events throughout the year.
- Deliver on personal revenue targets and hit weekly KPIs.
- Respond to briefs with compelling proposals and media plans that demonstrate ROI.
Requirements
- Proactive and action-oriented, with a strong drive to deliver results and turn ideas into reality.
- Highly organised, capable of managing your own workload effectively and balancing multiple priorities during busy periods.
- Strong communicator, able to build genuine rapport with clients and colleagues, ask insightful questions, and understand advertiser needs in both the short and long term.
- Performance-driven, motivated by achieving and exceeding targets, and committed to continuous improvement for yourself and the team.
- Creative and innovative, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where new ideas and fresh thinking are key to success.
Prior experience in a junior sales or customer-facing role is a plus, but not required
Benefits
- A relaxed working environment with regular socials including a summer festival
- Supportive well-being initiatives and benefits, talks & workshops, and Mental Health First aiders & Champions
- 25 days holiday plus a day for your birthday. Our offices will be closed between Christmas and New Year’s which are in addition to your annual entitlement
- Tailored training and development through both our inhouse learning platform and LinkedIn Learning
- A progressive and transparent culture focused on your development
- Flexible / hybrid working plus early finish Fridays
- Cycle to work scheme
- Enhanced Family Policies including paternity, adoption and surrogacy leave. We also provide a pregnancy loss, fertility, and carers policy
- Competitive pension plans and Life Assurance
- A newly renovated modern office with lots of collaborative spaces
