About the role
Radio Times is seeking a Gaming Writer to create engaging and informative digital content about video games and help expand our thriving Gaming section. This role is perfect for a passionate gamer with a flair for creating content and storytelling, eager to share their expertise and insights with a broad audience.

As a Gaming Writer you will;
- Stay on top of the latest developments in the gaming industry, including new game launches, updates, and industry events.
- Conduct interviews with game developers, industry experts, and other relevant figures.
- Attend gaming events and conferences for first-hand reporting and networking.
- Work with our audience development team to ensure all content is optimized for search engines to maximize visibility and audience reach.
- Engage with the Radio Times community social media, and other platforms to build a loyal readership.
- Work closely with the Gaming Editor, the wider Editorial team and central terms to help develop formats and strategies that align with Radio Times business goals.
- Create or assist in creating multimedia content like podcasts, videos, or live streams related to gaming.
- Work towards a video first approach to content creation fuelling other content formats such as written word, audio and visual content including presenting video content for compelling articles, reviews, and features on video games, including new releases, industry news, and trends.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of the gaming industry, including familiarity with various gaming platforms, genres, and trends
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging, and informative content
- Understanding of SEO principles and how to apply them to online content
- Strong interpersonal skills for conducting interviews and collaborating with team members
- Ability to adapt to changing trends and topics within the gaming industry
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Familiarity with content management systems and digital analytics tools
- Demonstrable experience in creation and presentation of video is preferred
- Experience with multimedia content creation, such as podcasting or video production is preferred
- A strong social media presence or experience with community engagement is preferred
