Cloud Applications Manager (Up to £50K per annum)

About the role

Reporting to the Head of It Operations, this role is central in managing our portfolio of SaaS applications, ensuring they align with our technology strategy and business needs, ensuring best in class collaboration and productivity.

As a Cloud Applications Manager you will;

 

  • Manage user access and licensing for our suite of cloud productivity apps (including Microsoft 365, Monday.com, Slack, Google Workspace and numerous line-of-business products) ensuring best value for the business.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of each app's functionality in order to provide training and support.
  • Write and maintain quick start guides for the most commonly used apps.
  • Regularly share top tips to help staff get the most out of supported apps.
  • Market Knowledge and Awareness
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of competing productivity apps and market trends through personal research, relationships and attending industry events.
  • Proactively advise IT team members and business stakeholders on opportunities to enhance the current toolset.
  • App Selection and Business Consultation
  • Consult with business units to understand challenges, researching and recommending suitable apps based on the existing toolset, cost, information security, and alignment with IT strategy.
  • Assist in the selection process for new applications, ensuring they address specific business needs.
  • Service Introduction
  • Learn new products being introduced and develop training sessions and documentation for effective rollouts.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Conduct post-project surveys to gather feedback and make recommendations for future improvements.
  • Use adoption data from tools such as Quantum365 and Teams Adoption Centre to target outreach and training activities.
  • Tackle Shadow IT
  • Identify instances of inappropriate shadow IT services and understand the problems users aim to solve.
  • Steer users towards best practices using supported solutions.
  • Automate and Improve Business Processes
  • Identify time-consuming manual practices and recommend improvements using modern tools and automation.
  • Implement workflows that enhance productivity and efficiency across teams.

 

Requirements

Essential

  • Proven experience managing SaaS applications within a medium to large organisation.
  • Strong understanding of cloud application procurement, implementation, and administration processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate software options and make data-driven decisions.

 

Desirable

  • Experience in the publishing industry or a similar creative environment.
  • Familiarity with common cloud tools used in business, such as project management and collaboration.
  • Technical skills, including experience with APIs and cloud tool integration.

  • Strong training skills and the desire and confidence to speak in front of a group.
