Sponsorship Sales & Account Manager (up to £45,000)

About the role

As a Sponsorship Sales and Account Manager, you will be responsible for achieving sponsorship targets across the portfolio of events, including the Good Food Shows, Good Food Festival and Hampton Court Palace Festivals; generating new business, and managing existing client accounts. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent relationship-building skills and a proven track record in sponsorship sales.

 

This role is a newly created position, reporting into the Event Director for Food & Outdoor, and will work closely with the Head of Sales – Food & Outdoor to ensure targets are met across the portfolio.

As a Sponsorship Sales and Account Manager you will;

  • Sponsorship Sales: Develop and implement strategies to attract and secure sponsorships for events across the portfolio. Identify potential sponsors, coming up with new ideas and putting together compelling sponsorship packages and negotiate agreements to maximise revenue.
  • New Business Development: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities, presenting ideas and concepts to prospects. Conduct market research to identify potential sponsors and develop tailored proposals to meet their needs.
  • Account Management: Maintain and nurture relationships with existing sponsors. Ensure the delivery of sponsorship benefits as outlined in agreements and provide regular updates and reports to sponsors, including detailed end of campaign reports.
  • Sponsorship Renewals: Oversee the renewal process for existing sponsorships, ensuring high retention rates and continued satisfaction of sponsors.
  • Team Management: Manage and mentor a Sponsorship Executive, providing guidance and support for their development. Foster a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.
  • Strategy Development: Collaborate with the Event Director to create the sponsorship strategy and feeding into the wider sales strategy developed by the Head of Sales. Ensure that sponsorship activities contribute to overall event strategy.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, sales, and event teams to ensure the successful execution of sponsorship agreements. Collaborate with internal teams to create marketing materials that highlight sponsorship opportunities.
  • Budget Management: Manage the sponsorship budget, ensuring maximum return on investment. Track and evaluate the effectiveness of sponsorship activities and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Reporting: Maintain a comprehensive database of current and potential sponsors. Prepare regular reports on sponsorship activities for the Head of Sales and Event Director, including performance metrics and financial outcomes using the CRM system.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in sponsorship sales and account management.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
  • Management experience is advantageous but not essential
