Junior Content Producer (Up to £26,500) BBC History Magazine and HistoryExtra.com

About the Role
In this exciting new role, you’ll be working with the print and digital team for BBC History Magazine and HistoryExtra.com. Your main responsibility will be to assist in the creation, editing, production and delivery of content for BBC History Magazine’s Apple News digital edition. You will also have responsibility for developing web content for the associated HIstoryExtra.com website.
As a Junior Content Producer you will;
- Working with Production Editor to plan and produce Apple News Content
- Proofing and updating Apple News issues
- Liaising with third-party production house to ensure quality of end product for Apple News
- Deputising for Production Editor on Apple News delivery
- Writing news and articles for Apple News and HistoryExtra website
- Commissioning articles for Apple News and HistoryExtra website
- Uploading content to HistoryExtra website
Requirements
- Highest standard of accuracy and attention to detail
- Good grasp and understanding of content SEO best practice
- Knowledge of technical SEO
- Working knowledge of uploading and publishing content in WordPress
- A demonstrable passion for and excellent knowledge of history
- A proven record of working with sensitive content
- Experience writing tight briefs for external contributors
- The ability to write copy in line with highest editorial standards
- The ability to work quickly to tight deadlines under pressure
- Flexibility and a professional approach at all times
- The ability to self-supervise in order to meet deadlines
