About the role

We are in search of a skilled and self-sufficient Project Manager to coordinate internal creative projects within our award-winning creative content studio, Imagine. These projects will be crucial to the growth of Immediate’s print and digital subscriptions business and key in taking users on a journey from anonymous (unknown) to known.

The ideal candidate will be adept at managing project timelines (we use Basecamp), facilitating communication between Imagine’s creative teams and internal stakeholders, and steering workflow to achieve successful outcomes. You’ll be responsible for the timely delivery of creative assets, effectively planning and prioritising all deliverables and resources across multiple projects.

A keen understanding and experience of managing performance marketing campaigns is crucial. The role demands a blend of independence, initiative, and diplomacy to navigate the complexities of creative project management effectively.

As a Studio Project Manager, you will;

  • Craft, oversee, and implement project plans in Basecamp, ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet our high standards.
  • Act as the principal liaison between Imagine’s design, copy, video and digital product teams, and internal stakeholders, promoting seamless collaboration.
  • Manage the entire project lifecycle, from conception through to completion, while adhering to budget, scope, and timeline constraints.
  • Allocate tasks and monitor the creative team's workflow to prevent bottlenecks and ensure efficient project progression.
  • Build relationships with other relevant internal departments beyond studio and marketing, for example, Editorial, Social and Product & Tech.
  • Ensure effective logging of project hours and campaign budgets via our time tracking tool, Harvest.
  • Apply an understanding of performance marketing principles to guide Imagine’s creative teams toward producing impactful and strategic creative assets.
  • Ensure a consistent feedback loop between marketing and creative teams to ensure content is optimised.
  • Identify potential project risks and challenges early on, devising and implementing effective solutions to mitigate these issues.
  • Organise brainstorms and creative reviews.
  • Keep abreast of the latest trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve our project outcomes.
  • Build an awareness of Immediate’s strategic pillars around known users and digital subscriptions to best serve these goals.
  • Support the Imagine creative studio’s delivery of other commercial campaigns where required.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience managing projects within a creative or design studio setting.
  • An interest in the creative process; from design to copy, you’ll be working with a team of talented creatives and need to understand how they work.
  • Expertise in utilising Basecamp for comprehensive project planning and management.
  • A natural problem solver, tenacious and self-motivated to achieve brilliant outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining positive relationships with both creatives and internal stakeholders through diplomatic and effective dialogue.
  • Confident in presenting creative ideas and campaign performance data to internal teams.
  • The ability to consistently interpret and action client requests and fulfil the amendment process to a high standard.
  • A keenness to collaborate and learn from others.
  • Outstanding organisational and time-management abilities, with a track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously without compromising quality.
  • A solid foundation in performance design, with direct experience in managing projects that utilise these principles.
  • The confidence to flag problems and ask questions of senior members of the team, providing full information and acting in a timely fashion.
  • Highly independent and self-sufficient, with the initiative to tackle problems head-on and the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • A collaborative mindset, paired with the skill to navigate team dynamics and stakeholder expectations diplomatically.
  • Being a team player with a sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Immediate’s print, digital and app products, and the wider magazine brand publishing marketplace.
  • An understanding of how our brands communicate with consumers across different touchpoints.
  • Experience in digital content creation and an understanding of digital marketing strategies.
